From Casa Bonta, it’s a fantastic experience to visit one of the many unique events in the Piedmont region. Each village and town has its own special festivities, perfect for lovers of culture, history, and gastronomy.

Cartosio (5 minutes away):

  • Mangialonga Cartosiana: A 5 km walk through fields and vineyards, where you can enjoy local snacks and wines.
    When: On Saturday, either the last week of July or the first week of August.
  • There are also flower and chestnuts festivals in spring and autumn (September/October).

Acqui Terme (15 minutes away):

  • Fiera di San Guido: A three-day local fair and festival is held in honor of the town’s patron saint, Saint Guido. On the Monday evening of the event, there is a big fireworks show at the Roman bridge.
    When: 2nd weekend of July.
  • Festa delle Feste: A culinary festival with local specialties from different villages in the region and a lively atmosphere.
    When: 2nd weekend of September.

Strevi (15 minutes away):

  • Strevi Slow Food Walk: A wine walk through 5 small-scale wineries, focusing on Slow Food and local products.
    When: 1st Sunday of June.

Nizza Monferrato (30 minutes away):

  • Nizza è Barbera: A festival dedicated entirely to Barbera wine, with tastings and festivities.
    When: 2nd weekend of May.
  • Wine Barrel Race: A unique race where participants roll wine barrels through the streets of the town.
    When: 1st weekend of June.

Canelli (30 minutes away):

  • Assedio di Canelli: A reenactment of the 1613 Battle of Canelli, with medieval markets and festivities.
    When: 3rd weekend of June.
  • Città del Vino: A wine festival where you can visit all the underground wine cellars and enjoy the region’s best wines.
    When: Last (or second last) weekend of September.

Alba (50 minutes away):

  • Palio degli Asini: A humorous donkey race, a fun counterpart to the famous Palio di Asti.
    When: 1st Sunday of October.
  • Fiera del Tartufo: The famous truffle festival, taking place throughout October, with the white truffle as the main attraction.

Asti (50 minutes away):

  • Palio di Asti: A historic horse race through the city (similar to Siena), an event full of tradition and spectacle.
    When: 1st Sunday of September.
